Kia EV4 2025 Review: Price, Range, and Stunning Design Revealed

The Kia EV4 brings Kia’s dedicated electric platform into a lower, more conventional passenger-car format than models such as the EV6 and EV9. Depending on market, it is offered as a hatchback or fastback-style sedan, with two battery sizes, front-wheel drive and an official WLTP range that can exceed 600 km in long-range versions.

For UAE buyers, however, there is an important distinction. The EV4 is now a production car in several international markets, but it is not currently listed in Kia UAE’s official model range. Any EV4 appearing locally should therefore be checked carefully for source market, specification, warranty and charging compatibility before it is treated like an officially supplied UAE model

Kia UAE currently lists EV3, EV5, EV6 and EV9 in its showroom. A locally advertised EV4 should therefore be checked for import status, warranty and charging specification.

What Is the Kia EV4?

The EV4 is Kia’s first dedicated all-electric model designed around sedan and compact hatchback body styles. It uses Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP architecture but, unlike the higher-voltage EV6, operates with a 400-volt electrical system.

Kia offers two main battery capacities in established markets: 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh. Both use a front-mounted electric motor rated at 150 kW, or approximately 204 PS, driving the front wheels.

That gives the EV4 a different role from an electric performance car. Its focus is efficiency, usable range, interior space and everyday practicality rather than extreme acceleration.

Kia EV4 Battery and Performance

The standard-range EV4 uses a 58.3 kWh battery, while the long-range version increases capacity to 81.4 kWh.

Both versions use the same 150 kW front motor. Depending on battery and body configuration, official acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is around 7.4 to 7.7 seconds, while Kia lists a maximum speed of 170 km/h for established European specifications.

The difference between the two batteries is therefore less about outright performance and more about driving range and charging requirements.

The long-range car carries more battery weight, but it gives buyers considerably more distance between charging stops.

How Far Can the Kia EV4 Travel?

Official range depends on body style, wheel size and battery specification.

Long-range EV4 versions can achieve more than 600 km under WLTP testing. Kia has quoted figures up to approximately 630 to 633 km for the most efficient configurations, while hatchback versions can return slightly different figures depending on specification.

Those are laboratory-standardised figures, not guaranteed Dubai driving distances.

High ambient temperature, sustained motorway speeds, aggressive acceleration, cabin cooling, tyre pressure and payload can all affect actual energy consumption. For that reason, a fixed claim such as “the EV4 will deliver 520 km in Dubai” should not be made without a documented local test.

Anyone comparing cars for sale in Dubai should treat the official WLTP figure as a reference point rather than a promise of identical UAE range.

How Fast Does the Kia EV4 Charge?

The EV4 uses a 400-volt charging architecture. Official Kia figures show that the 58.3 kWh battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 29 minutes under suitable high-power DC charging conditions. The 81.4 kWh battery requires around 31 minutes.

Those figures depend on charger output, battery temperature, starting state of charge and other conditions.

This is not the same charging architecture used by Kia’s fastest 800-volt models, but a roughly half-hour 10-to-80 percent charging window remains competitive for an electric car in this class.

For UAE ownership, the more important question is whether the exact vehicle being purchased has charging hardware and software compatible with the infrastructure the owner intends to use.

Final Verdict

The Kia EV4 is no longer a concept or an estimated future model. It is a production electric car with confirmed 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh battery options, a 150 kW front motor, fast DC charging and more than 600 km of WLTP range in selected long-range specifications.

What should disappear from a UAE-focused review are invented ownership experiences, unverified Dubai range tests and speculative local prices presented as fact.

For buyers in the UAE, the EV4 becomes most interesting once price, warranty and official local availability are confirmed. Until then, imported examples should be assessed individually rather than treated as standard GCC-spec Kia vehicles.
